RED OWL BOXING HEADS TO HIDALGO, TEXAS WITH ‘BOXFEST XX’ ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, LIVE ON DAZN

Houston, Texas – Monday, August 10, 2026 – Red Owl Boxing has announced that it will produce its next live televised event at Payne Arena in Hidalgo, Texas on Friday, September 11.
Priced from $35, tickets for “Red Owl Boxing Presents: Boxfest XX” are on sale at Ticketmaster.com and the Payne Arena box office.
The event’s main card will stream live on DAZN, beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on September 11.
Facing off in the 10-round, junior welterweight (140 pounds) main event will be highly touted rising star Giovanni Marquez (15-1, 8 KO’s) and hard-hitting Rowin Javier Sanchez (7-2-3, 5 KO’s).
“I’ve attended some incredible fights in Hidalgo and the Rio Grande Valley in the past, and Red Owl Boxing is going to deliver nothing short of a stellar fight card, headlined by Giovanni Marquez and Rowin Javier Sanchez, to Payne Arena on September 11,” said Greg Bloom, CEO of Red Owl Boxing.

The main event fight will mark the first bout on the recently announced Marquez’s new promotional contract with Red Owl Boxing.
Fighting out of his hometown of Houston, Texas, the 25-year-old Marquez is the son of legendary boxing champion Raul Marquez, who serves as Giovanni’s trainer and who has been an instrumental force behind his son’s success in the squared circle, to date.
Giovanni, a former 2021 National Golden Gloves champion, is looking for his third consecutive victory after stopping Ernest Bustos in the third round (1:47) of a welterweight (147 pounds) matchup contested in Houston.
Standing in the opposite corner of Marquez, Sanchez is a 30-year-old native of San Felipe, Venezuela and Prichard, Ala. resident.
Sanchez, who left Venezuela in February 2025 and crossed seven different other countries to arrive in the U.S., has since gone unbeaten in his first three bouts in the U.S.
He is coming off his best win to date, a third round (2:54) knockout (right hook) of Jacob Marrero in Connecticut on April 18.
That victory earned Sanchez his first professional title, the World Boxing Council (WBC) Central American Boxing Federation (FECARBOX) lightweight (135 pounds) championship.
