Boxfest at Owl’s Nest II on November 26 to be First Event Available Live Worldwide on DAZN

November 14, 2022 – Canadian boxing promotions company Red Owl Boxing and global sports and entertainment platform DAZN are pleased to announce an exclusive global broadcast partnership that will see all future Red Owl Boxing events broadcast exclusively to subscribers worldwide on DAZN. The first night as part of the deal is set for November 26, with Boxfest at the Owl’s Nest II, live from Brampton, Ontario.

As one of the fastest growing sports media companies in the world leading the charge to give sports fans in 200+ markets around the world access to live sports and on demand content anytime and anywhere, this global partnership immediately raises the profile of Canadian professional boxing.

“In all of our conversations we’ve had with DAZN, the central idea is bringing exciting fights to Canada’s passionate sports fans, while showcasing the amazing homegrown boxing talent we have to fight fans all over the world,” stated Red Owl Boxing President, Gabriel Fanous.

“Growing the sport of boxing all across Canada as well as globally is a very important shared value that we all felt.”

“As the home of boxing in Canada as well as the global home of boxing, we are thrilled to add Red Owl Boxing’s slate of fight nights to DAZN’s international boxing schedule,” said Norm Lem, SVP, DAZN Canada. “We look forward to fostering this new partnership and giving some of Canada’s brightest homegrown boxing stars the platform to not just reach all fight fans domestically but also all over the world with DAZN,”

The November 26 card features budding Canadian-Hungarian star Zsolt Daranyi Jr (18-1-0, 17 KOs), who will defend the NABA North American championship against #44 Globally Ranked Vlad Panin (15-1-0, 8 KOs) fighting out of California, USA by way of Belarus.

Daranyi, a pupil of Lennox Lewis, has been on a steady incline over the last year, and with this title defense, the Hungarian-Canadian would move one step closer in achieving the ultimate goal of becoming world champion.

Boxfest I on May 7, 2022 (Red Owl’s first ever PRO event) garnered a sold out, capacity crowd at the Owl’s Nest within 24 hours of tickets going public. The appetite for Canadian boxing has been immediately felt at Red Owl, demanding construction of an expanded venue capacity from 400 to 900 in attendance.

This collaboration will provide an opportunity for maximum exposure to boxing fans worldwide, and the ability to catch the action live on DAZN.

“Red Owl is dedicated to the strong resurgence of boxing in Canada,” explained Fanous.

“We are accomplishing this through building a new fan base, consistency in live events, cooperation with all Canadian gyms, and providing a one-of-a-kind platform for all boxers from beginner, to amateur, to professional.”
